"My name is Clifton Hickman and I'm a licensed professional counselor here at Reviving Hope Christian Counseling in Fort Worth, Texas. I'm a Christian counselor for men and couples struggling with pornography addiction, affair recovery, addiction, or couples counseling."

Why did you become a counselor?

"The counseling office is a sacred space. It's a place where people feel safe to be vulnerable and share their stories. Every story has suffering, regrets, as well as places where the Lord is on the move. It is my great privilege as a Christian counselor to be able to see the ways the Lord is on the move in people's lives and participate in it."

Why are you a Christian counselor?

"In Christ, we have a true high priest named Jesus who intercedes for us and brings true healing. And that's what Christian counseling offers. Other forms of therapy merely focus on techniques which can feel impersonal and overwhelming. But Christian counseling centers on a person named Jesus who loves us, draws near to us, confronts us to the point of true transformation. I've experienced this personally through Christian counselors and friends, and I want to offer that same hope to others."

Why do you have a heart to counsel men struggling with internet pornography addiction?

"One area that is close to my heart is helping men break free from online pornography addiction. Internet pornography addiction has destroyed marriages, families, and men's God-given identity due to sexual activity. So many men feel enslaved by it. But through Christian porn addiction therapy, I've seen Jesus bring freedom. I believe Christ can transform these men to be good husbands, good fathers, and courageous leaders. So many men feel hopeless, and it is my joy to point them to Jesus, the person of hope, who doesn't reject them and isn't ashamed of them, but loves them and wants to truly change them."
